Spring Semester!

Wow...I can't believe it's March! Once again I'm reminded that life as a college student flies by. This semester has been crazy and I can't believe I'm only six weeks away from the end.

To start, I had Sorority recruitment at the beginning of the year. Luckily, all went well and every sorority received great new members!

We've had amazing speakers this past semester. For the Student Government sponsored Classroom on the Quad, former Attorney General Janet Reno came to talk about immigration. She was so knowledgeable...and so tall! Also, Ralph Nader spoke at Emory a couple of weeks ago. His event was sold out as he is also an interesting man to listen to.

Next week, Alice Walker, the author of The Color Purple, will be speaking at Glenn Memorial. I'm so excited to go! She's one of my favorite authors.

Meanwhile, students just came back from Spring Break. We're all happy to be back at Emory, but we definitely enjoyed the break. I happen to go on break with 25 other Emory students...we just brought the campus with us!

This next week is one of the most important weeks for Emory: Dooley's Week. We are having comedian Mo Rocca coming to speak, the band Ok Go, and as the finale: a pirate themed Dooley's Ball. This ball is the social event of the season and attended by nearly every Emory student. All of this is in honor of our unofficial mascot, Dooley. Dooley is the immortal spirit of Emory and is a skeleton. If you see any skeletons around campus, it's pretty safe to say it's him!

I can't believe Graduation is only 6 weeks away! I'm in disbelief as I don't want any of my senior friends to leave. That's one of the hardest parts of college is seeing your friends go. What's even crazier is that I'm going to be a senior next year... I feel like I moved into my freshman dorm yesterday.
